SCRIPTURE: For all have sinned ans fallen short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
Jesus said in John 14:6 that no man comes to the father except through him, for He alone is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
Jesus is the only way to heaven. Merely
going to church doesn’t automatically make us saved. The fact that our parents
are Christians only make us one in the religious/cultural sense, and that doesn’t
automatically make us saved either. The only way to eternal life is to accept Jesus
as Lord over our lives, believing that he died on the cross for our sins, and
that he’ll come again to take us to our eternal home. Without this act of faith,
no man will see God.Jesus said in John 14:6 that no man comes to the father except through him, for He alone is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
Going
to church is good; in fact it’s necessary and essential, but it’s not enough. Merely
attending church makes us a passive Christian whereas we need to be an active one.
We should have a desire to worship and serve God, and that goes beyond showing
up in church every week. Your life outside of church ought to reflect your
allegiance to Him.
If
you’ve been attending church your whole life and you still believe that should
be enough for you as a Christian, if Jesus still is not the center of your
life, and if your life is relatively still the same, then I’m here to tell you your
attendance means nothing in the book of life. (Also, it might be time to change
churches if yours isn’t continuously emphasizing on spiritual growth and
pointing to Jesus as the only way to heaven.) 2 Corinthians 5:17 emphasizes
that an intimate, personal relationship with Jesus is the only way we can
attain a new life with new attitudes and habits. This is when church attendance
– and fellowship – then comes in, for it's when we take part in the spiritual disciplines
(Bible study, fellowship, serving others) that we can truly grow. We should be
involved in ministry and strive to live our purpose by using the gifts He has
given us, all for his glory and honor.
The only way to eternal life is to accept Jesus as Lord over our lives, believing that he died on the cross for our sins, and that he’ll come again to take us to our eternal home.
Weekly
Church attendance is not enough to make us grow. Have you given your life to
Christ and become a new creation? Do you do bible study and pray outside of church?
Does your life reflect your allegiance to God? Are you intentionally living for
His glory? Doing good alone is not enough. Showing love to people around you
isn’t enough. If you don’t have the spirit of God within you, none of these is
enough.
Take
a moment now to reflect on your spiritual walk. It’s never too late to accept
Jesus into your heart and be truly changed forever. Invite him now.
