The Blood of the Lamb

CURIOUS CHRISTIAN:

Terrible Things are happening everyday. How can I stop myself from fearing the worst is bound to happen to me too?

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 91

People getting shot at random at malls, on the streets, in schools. Others getting stabbed for no reason. Catastrophes and calamities happening everywhere.

With all these happening all around us, terrible and catastrophic things, we can’t do much but look up to God and trust him to save us and our loved ones.

Just because we're not in the middle of a war zone, and no bombs are going off in our area, doesn't mean we're any safer. Accidents happen every day. People die every day. What's to stop you from suffering the same unfortunate fate?

It's the blood of Jesus, that's what's stopping us. It's only the blood of Jesus that can keep us from any and all harm. It's only the Grace of God that preserves us and keeps us alive. We're not any luckier than the people that met their deaths yesterday, or last week. We’re not loved any more than they are by our Creator. No, we're not holier than they are, nor do we deserve to live any more than they do. It’s only by His grace and mercy that we are spared.

So it’s important to pray fervently and plead the blood of Jesus on ourselves and our loved ones every morning before we step out of the house and every night before we go to sleep.

Before going any further, let's get enlightened on the significance of the blood.

Jesus, who was innocent, blameless and without sin, took our sins with him when he was nailed to the cross. God allowed his blood to be shed for us, on our behalf, so that through His brokenness, we can be made whole. When he was on that cross, He became cursed, because he bore our curses, our shame, our guilt, every sin you can think of, and he took our place as the condemned, so that we may live and be made whole. The blood of Jesus makes us whole. This same blood protects us from the arrows that fly by day and the terrors of the night (Ps. 91:5). Through the blood of Jesus, we have divine favor in the eyes of God, and we are protected and kept safe from harm. There's healing power in the blood of Jesus. There's restoration power, deliverance power, all in that precious blood.

When you plead the blood over yourself, sickness and death shall pass over you. Ex. 12:13 says "But the blood on your door posts will serve as a sign, marking the houses where you are staying. When I see the blood, I will pass over you. This plague of death will not touch you when I strike the land of Egypt." (NLT) Just like the spirit of death passed over the blood-smeared doors in Egypt, so will the evil arrows that fly by day pass over you.

So as you pray for protection, fervently plead the blood of Jesus over every part of you, plead the blood of Jesus over your loved ones, plead the blood over any mode of transportation you'll be using that day, whether it's transit bus, train, taxi, bicycle or your personal car.

Plead the blood of Jesus, and believe that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and all tongues that rise against you will be condemned (Isa. 54:17). Believe that the Lord God of Angel Armies is your refuge and fortress; he will cover you with his feathers, and shelter you with his wings.
